Bristly Ridge Guided Scramble

The Bristly Ridge is a fantastic guided scramble which follows a striking ridge line between the summits of Tryfan and Glyder Fach.

Like many of the scrambles in the Glyderau mountain range, the Bristly Ridge looks ominous and imposing from a distance. Starting in the aptly named Sinister Gulley, the route follows a line of continuous scrambling all the way to the summit of Glyder Fach.

Despite appearances, it is a justifiably popular outing with novices and experienced mountaineers alike. The route passes through some impressive terrain which is difficult to find at such an easy grade and as such makes for an immersive and unforgettable journey.

A Scrambler on the Bristly Ridge

Although excellent in it's own right, it is often done as a continuation of Tryfan's North Ridge and as part of the Cwm Bochlwyd Horseshoe.

Difficulty

Grade 1 (Easy Scrambling). Like most of the scrambles we offer, our guides know the area extremely well and can pick out a route to suit any ability. It is a long walk to the start of the ridge so a moderate level of fitness is required.
